These Terms & Conditions apply to domestic exterior-cleaning work carried out by Spireline Exterior Care. They are intended to sit alongside the written quotation and any agreed job-specific notes.
1. Quotations and scope of work
1.1 A quotation is based on the information, photographs and access details available when it is prepared. Unless stated otherwise, quotations are valid for 30 days.
1.2 The quotation will describe the work included. Anything not listed should be treated as excluded unless agreed in writing.
1.3 If the condition, size, access, surface type or level of contamination is materially different from what was described or visible when quoted, Spireline Exterior Care may pause the work and discuss a revised method, price or scope before continuing.
1.4 Additional work will not be charged without the customer’s agreement.
2. Booking, access and customer responsibilities
2.1 The customer must provide safe and reasonable access to the work area at the agreed time, including access to any water supply that has been agreed for the job.
2.2 Before work begins, the customer should remove or identify items that may be vulnerable to water, pressure, cleaning products or overspray, including movable furniture, ornaments, vehicles and delicate plants where reasonably practicable.
2.3 The customer must tell Spireline Exterior Care about known defects or sensitive areas that may affect the work, including loose paving, damaged pointing, cracked render, failing seals, defective drainage, electrical equipment, leaks, fragile surfaces or previous coatings or treatments.
2.4 Children, pets and other persons should be kept away from the active work area while equipment or cleaning products are in use.
3. Cleaning methods and expected results
3.1 Spireline Exterior Care will use a method considered appropriate for the surface and condition presented, using the least aggressive effective method where reasonably practicable.
3.2 Exterior cleaning improves appearance but cannot guarantee that every stain, mark, lichen spot, oil stain, rust mark, historic discolouration or deeply embedded contamination will be completely removed.
3.3 Weathering, age, previous damage and hidden defects can become more visible after cleaning. Cleaning does not repair underlying defects.
3.4 A small trial area may be used where appropriate. If the surface reacts unexpectedly or the work cannot be completed safely without an unacceptable risk of damage, work may be stopped.
4. Surface-specific limitations
4.1 Pressure washing can remove loose jointing material, unstable pointing, failing paint or coatings, or already-deteriorated material. Spireline Exterior Care is not responsible for pre-existing deterioration that becomes apparent during reasonable cleaning.
4.2 Block paving may require jointing sand to be replenished after cleaning. Re-sanding is included only where it is specifically stated in the quotation.
4.3 Organic staining may return over time. No guarantee is given that cleaned surfaces will remain free from algae, moss, lichen or other organic growth for a particular period unless a separate written treatment guarantee is provided.
4.4 Solar-panel cleaning, where offered, is carried out from the ground using suitable reach equipment unless a different access method is specifically agreed. Spireline Exterior Care does not undertake electrical repairs or performance testing.
5. Chemicals and protection of surrounding areas
5.1 Where a cleaning product is required, it will be selected and used in accordance with the product information, relevant safety controls and the surface being treated.
5.2 Reasonable precautions will be taken to protect surrounding property, plants, glazing, metals and other sensitive materials. The customer must identify any unusually sensitive or valuable items before work starts.
5.3 Spireline Exterior Care will not knowingly mix incompatible chemicals and may refuse or stop chemical treatment where safe control of overspray, runoff or exposure cannot be achieved.
6. Weather, safety and postponement
6.1 Work may be postponed, interrupted or rearranged where weather, access, equipment condition, ground conditions, public access or another hazard makes the work unsafe or likely to cause damage.
6.2 Spireline Exterior Care will not improvise unsafe access arrangements in order to complete a job.
6.3 Where a job is rearranged for safety or weather reasons, a new date will be agreed as soon as reasonably practicable.
7. Cancellations
7.1 The customer should give as much notice as possible if a booking needs to be changed or cancelled.
7.2 For contracts agreed at a customer’s home, by telephone, online or by message, statutory cancellation rights may apply. Where the Consumer Contracts Regulations apply, the customer will normally have 14 days to cancel the service contract.
7.3 If the customer asks for work to begin during a statutory cancellation period, Spireline Exterior Care may ask for an express request to start early. If the customer then cancels after work has begun, a reasonable amount may be payable for work already supplied, where the law permits.
7.4 Nothing in these terms removes or reduces any cancellation right the customer has under applicable consumer law.
8. Price, payment and variations
8.1 The agreed price is the price shown on the accepted quotation, subject to any later variation agreed with the customer.
8.2 Unless otherwise stated on the quotation or invoice, payment is due on completion of the work.
8.3 Where only part of the agreed work can be completed for a reason outside Spireline Exterior Care’s reasonable control, any adjustment to the final amount will be discussed with the customer.
8.4 An invoice or receipt may be provided and payment status will be recorded in the business job-management records.
9. Damage, defects and complaints
9.1 Reasonable care will be taken while working at the property. Any known existing damage or sensitive areas may be photographed or recorded before work begins.
9.2 The customer should raise any concern as soon as reasonably possible so that Spireline Exterior Care has an opportunity to inspect the issue and, where appropriate, put matters right.
9.3 These terms do not exclude liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or the customer’s statutory rights.
9.4 Nothing in these terms limits the customer’s rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill.
10. Photographs, reviews and marketing
10.1 Before-and-after photographs may be taken for job records, quality control and evidence of existing condition.
10.2 Photographs will not be used for advertising or social-media marketing where the customer has not given the relevant permission. Where marketing consent is requested, it is optional.
10.3 A customer may be asked to leave a review after the work is completed. There is no obligation to do so.
11. Customer information and future contact
11.1 Customer information may be recorded for quoting, scheduling, invoicing, job records, customer service and legitimate business administration.
11.2 Marketing or future-service contact will be recorded separately from the job itself. Where consent is relied upon, the customer can withdraw it at any time.
11.3 A separate privacy notice is available explaining how personal information is handled.
12. General
12.1 If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining terms will continue to apply.
12.2 These terms are governed by the law applicable in England and Wales. Nothing in this clause affects any mandatory consumer protections that apply.
12.3 The written quotation, these Terms & Conditions and any written variation together form the agreement for the work.
Customer acceptance
Acceptance of a quotation by WhatsApp, text, email, signature or another clear written confirmation confirms acceptance of the quoted scope and these Terms & Conditions, subject always to the customer’s statutory rights.
